His cake had me in tears and laughing the same time. Jim and I stopped to get it on the way to dinner. When I ordered, I asked for a round cake, enough to serve ten, with a golf green and golf balls everywhere. In my mind I had pictured a pristine green, perfectly frosted chocolate cake with perfectly perfect sugar coated miniature golf balls. When we got there, she handed it to me and must have seen the horror on my face. Jim stepped in, grabbed the cake, pulled me away, and assured me it would be just fine. It was the tiniest, crappiest cake I've ever seen. BUT Brady could've care less...all he cared about was the taste. Needless to say, I'll never be ordering there again.Sunday, June 1, 2008
Birthday boy celebrations
Mr. Brady had a birthday on Thursday and I'm just getting around to posting now because we have been so busy! He was in all his glory yesterday as he picked out his birthday present, new golf clubs (what else) at Golf Galaxy. We were there for a good two hours. I couldn't help but smile...he was like a giddy little kid. We spent the afternoon having wine and eating a great meal on the patio overlooking the river at Fratello's. Our Jimmy Belle joined us so we gabbed for awhile. Today, he is golfing with the boys and I have enjoyed my day taking a nice long walk by Lake Michigan, stopping at Starbucks for an iced mocha, proofing, cleaning, chatting with girlfriends, and stocking up on new books...can it really get any better? Happy birthday to the love of my life! I hope it was as special as I wanted it to be!! xoxo
